Council is committed to delivering a superior aquatic service and has been recognised for having safe and high quality pools.
All Yarra Leisure centres in recent years have won the ARV ‘Metropolitan Facility of the Year’ awards.
Council also has a partnership with Lifesaving Victoria and participates in the Platinum Pool Safe Awards. This is a 200 point audit carried out by Lifesaving Victoria with a pass rating of 85%. All Council’s aquatic facilities scored a rating of 98% in the 2011 audit.
Whatever is your preferred swimming environment or activity Council has something to cater for everyone, including outdoor pools, indoor lap pools, as well as spas, saunas, steam rooms, water aerobics and squad training.

Collingwood Leisure Centre

Collingwood Leisure Centre features brand new aquatic facilities following a $7.8 million redevelopment. The revamped aquatic area opened in January 2012.
The new aquatic facilities include:

• A seven lane 25-metre lap pool
• Learn to Swim pool
• Toddlers pool with ‘beach’ (gradual) entry
• Upgraded sauna and spa area
• Refurbished change rooms and new accessible and family change facilities.

Fitzroy Swimming Pool

The Fitzroy Swimming Pool offers a great range of aquatic facilities that will help keep you fit, healthy and help you get the most out of your life.
Winner of the 2006 Metropolitan Facility of the year, Fitzroy has one of the best Pool’s in Victoria and is open all year round!

• 50m outdoor heated pool 
• Outdoor toddler pool with sun smart shade cloth
• Spa, sauna and steam room

Richmond Recreation Centre

Pool

The heart of the Richmond Recreation Centre, the 50-metre indoor heated pool is perfectly suited for lap swimming and training.
It is popular training area for professionals, recreational swimmers and school groups. In 2006, athletes competing in the Melbourne Commonwealth Games used the pool as a training ground.
Toddler and learner pools are located next to main 50-metre lap pool. These provide a safe and comfortable environment where young children and first-time swimmers can become familiar with water.
Depending on availability, school or community groups may book out the pool for carnivals, festivals or end of year celebrations. Please call the Richmond Recreation Centre, on 9205 5032, for more information about availability and pricing.
